I have a dream of getting out of here, away from the gunfire and gangs and away from the pervasive fear that coats this city in a thick sludge. I am supposed to be a progressive woman in a evolving world, but I might just want to raise a family and a garden on a lush piece of land somewhere.

get out -- can't say enough how much environment matters -- go someplace safe, happy and start over

Honestly, I feel the same way.. I'm trying to find a way out myself. Its not easy so keep trying. Just like thousands of other people like us are trying to do. There's always a way out. Just don't be like others and wait for something to happen, we have to do things for ourselves. Just know that if u really want things enough, you can uae that to motivate u and turn your dreams to reality.

Now this might seem a little much for some but... I HATE the city! Don't get me wrong it's nice to visit, and places like Boston, NY, and DC can be a lot of fun, but what I'm talking about is the apparent dimming of the human spirit that inevitably happens in EVERY city. Ever notice how a lot of people are just plain rude in the city? And when was the last time you found that many miserable, rude people in some small, beautiful town where everyone knows each other? Let me tell you, every time I go out to the middle of nowhere I don't want to leave. Furthermore, I've lived in suburbs, inner city dwellings, and on the outskirts. I've had peace one year, then been shot at and jumped the next. I've lived in five different states and countless cities including San Diego, Huntington Beach, Phoenix, Kansas City, Boston, and DC. From one rational being to another- get out of the inner city, especially if it feels like it's killing your spirit! I'm out soon and may you find your lush piece too!!
