You should take note, death in a dream does not always resemble death in real life. Additionally it is common to be unable to read or at least make sense of written text in a dream. Some people claim that they can read in their dreams but I think this is purely a phenomena where they think they are reading because their brain is sending them whatever it can spit out at the moment, but if they tried to read the same thing a second time, it would be different or even gone.
Dreams are often composed of the "trash" that your mind is trying to dispose of at night once you fall into REM sleep (you don't have to be in REM stage to dream though). Sometimes they are random thoughts that make no sense, and sometimes they are focused on our fears, hopes, stress, or joys.
