hmm....let me tell you this...a mental healthcare doctor told me once that people who INTENTIONALLY cut family out of their lives usually end up with a devastating mental illness or condition....that is a basic human need, family. No matter how EBARRASSING or IGNORANT they may seem to you.
MAybe you don't want to be tied up with them all the time...just don't cut them out completely....keep in touch nad don't let them go over your boundaries
