Only live once......well, that's true, but don't use that to justify idiocy, which this doesn't seem to be. You weren't dating the ex at the time, so no cheating was involved. But if you still love the ex and want to get back with her, I would recommend honesty. And being sure that you won't be tempted to hook up with that girl again while you're dating the ex. Because that would, of course, be idiocy to cheat on the girl you love.
