I am in my early 20's and started hanging out with my neighbors regularly in April. We did the drink until the sun came up and have long meaningful conversations about our trials and tribulations in life. She is truly the best of people, now married, young kids, and it's just made me cry all day. and yet, smiling thinking about her, too. she has amazing family, community, medical support, but i want to do or say something more than i have.
A good friend of mine is celebrating a birthday this week with a small party. Among the list of invites is myself--and my ex-boyfriend, who will undoubtedly show up.

Had dinner with a friend and we split the 2 entrees. when i was getting close to finishing the plate near me, i saw a really big, ugly bug and quickly scooped everything around it and put my napkin on the plate to "signify to the waiter" to pick it up. yeah, right. not only did i eat the food to keep it secret, the waiter had to have seen the damn thing and said nothing.
