I desperately want a career change but have no idea how I can do that without going back to school, which I don't want to do, I'm 30 years old and can't really afford to step back into an entry level position, I am only in a Jr. level type position now.

What do you want to do in your new career? If you just want change because you're bored you need to re-evaluate your plan. What's to say you won't feel the same way in your next "career". Not everyone is quite happy doing what they do. In my case my career can be very monotonous but I substituted that by starting up a freelance business. My goal is to turn that freelance business into a big business but for now I am taking it step by step. Maybe you can consider something like that. You won't necessarily need to go back to school that way. JMO.

I actually do have a freelance photography business. THAT or something in the Outdoor Industry is what I would like to do, but thanks to our wonderful health care system I can't get insurance. So can't start my business. I've tried over and over again. I basically don't like the line of work I am in at all.

why not do evening classes or vocational -- all are set up to give you online and evening/weekend classes. and cheap, cheap, cheap!

got a point. our health system does suck. guess what, guys?! this year my company announced that health insurance WON'T be going up! though that might have something to do with the over 1000 people that don't work for the company that i work for anymore. sorry, jackson cannery, i went on a rant of my own for awhile. i might suggest that you wait for the econ to improve and then try to take a step up. good luck.:D
