From the top.
I really like this girl (we'll call her Sarah for safety's sake) and I brought her to a school dance last night. We had so much fun! After it ended, I asked if I could have her number, to which she agreed and we swapped HOME numbers. (she has a cell but it's pre-paid and i don't like running anyone's minutes down).
She also gave me her email address, but I forgot to give her mine.
I've been thinking about her... no that's wrong. I've been OBSESSING about her all freakin' day long. I've managed to switch my mind to other things, such as video games and whatnot, but then I'll start to drift back to her and last night’s events. (And no, there was no sex.)
My predicament here is that I want to e-mail her but I don't want to freak her out by doing this. Plus the fact that she is ranked in the top 5 of her Junior class (I'm a Senior, we both go to the same high school) and I know that she is quite competitive when it comes to grades and academics, so I don't want to bother her with a simple "Hi." However, I want to send her one anyways because I want to establish some sort of method of communication with her.
It's all just very confusing for a guy who hasn't had a girlfriend in two years.
So what to do, what to do, what to freakin’ do?

dude -- chill. she's waiting for your call... at least email and say, simply, "been thinking about you a lot and really enjoyed the dance. Forgot to give you my email, and hope you use it."

if you think it might be too soon to call, just send an email. it's easy and you don't have to say much. i'm sure she would be really happy to get an email from you just saying "hi, how are you, i had a great time, would love to hang out again" or you could even ask her how her studying is going. and it's not disruptive at all because she can check her email whenever she wants. you can start out slow with emails and then try giving her a call. :)
