Ok people I have to get this off my chest.
We are all concerned about the money situation the government "has put us in" well no the government did not do this, we did it. We with our must have more than the last guy attitude. Charging more than we make so our kids can have more than they need. No longer worried about our nest eggs but our credit scores so we can keep buying stuff that we don't need.
The real question is not how we are going to get out of this but who is going to realize the real problem. Yes you need credit for large purchases , I get that but do you need credit for small ones. No I am not talking about a two dollar soda but a two hundred dollar pair of jeans. A house is a large purchase not a used car for less that five thousand. IF you can not save that much in a year then maybe you should take the bus and live in an apartment. No I do not think you kids should suffer the school bully because they don't have the latest and best but maybe we should review what should be a priority when it comes to what we buy.'
I know you are looking like She excepts us to live with credit' how will we eat. Well honestly if you did not have that credit card bill with the high interest to where you spend 400 for that 100 dollar purchase by the time it is paid off you would not have the question right now.
So how do i live is what you are wondering. I will tell you I drive a car I paid cash for after saving up for a while. I live in a 3 bedroom apt. I have 3 kids and yes we have a x-box 360 paid cash for a ps2 paid cash for and a ps3 paid cash for. My 13 year old son sold lemonade to paid for his x-box and as far as his cell phone he lost it due to math grades issue. I know such a bad mother to teach him work for what you have I don't give it to you. The ps3 was a gift check from a grandparent who hit on a bit of luck.
Now it seems that I don't have a bad life. Well I do want things and yes he will get a car when he is 16 but it will not be a lexus or a bmw (that if you saw the sweet 16 show on mtv will not ruin his life) but a car that he has saved for my dad will do the same thing my grandfather did and match the amount he saves to the dollar and he will get something that runs that he can trade up to something better when he gets more money.
We need to realize that we have limited amount of money and that is what e can spend not we have 60 dollars left after we pay the credit cards bills so lets get another one attitude we have.
Sorry for the public lashing but hell someone has to say stop charging everything and realize that we have a nation coming into themselves and we need to leave them more than debit.
